CULTURA, NATUREZA E RELIGIÃO NA CONSTITUIÇÃO DE TERRITORIALIDADE NO CANDOMBLÉ DA BAHIA
Abstract
Este artigo discute a relação entre a religião do candomblé, seus sítios sagrados e a preservação de valores culturais e de representações simbólicas relativos à África imaginária ancestral, sob o prisma da territorialidade, e sua importância na constituição histórica de espaços locais de liberdade e de reorganização de estruturas sociais e culturais peculiares. Analisa também atuação de mitos e ritos do candomblé na constituição de uma maneira específica de relacionamento com a natureza e o ambiente, revelada localmente nas configurações territoriais dos terreiros e na forma de compreensão do mundo da comunidade de culto. O caráter particular desta religião influencia o conhecimento sobre a natureza e constitui-se como base para a organização territorial dos terreiros, permitindo a preservação de um ethos específico que sobreviveu a várias pressões dos grupos dominantes, como verdadeiros nichos de resistência cultural.Downloads
