DEGRADAÇÃO AMBIENTAL EM ÁREAS DESTINADAS À PECUÁRIA NA SUB-BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO SANA, MACAÉ – RJ
Abstract
A pecuária extensiva é uma das atividades econômicas que mais causam impactos no meio ambiente. O município de Macaé, principalmente em seu 5º distrito (Sana), apresenta grande fragilidade ambiental devido à degradação de suas encostas causada pela pecuária. Ao longo dos anos, desde a ocupação pelos europeus em fins do século XVIII e início do século XIX para o cultivo de café, diversas formas de uso do solo contribuíram para a sua degradação. Apesar de ainda existirem remanescentes de floresta primária na região, esta apresenta um predomínio de uso antrópico, representado por pastos, lavouras, e por vegetação secundária, em diversos estágios de sucessão florestal. Castro et al. (2010) ao fazerem um levantamento das feições erosivas existentes para a referida localidade, constataram que mais de 90% das mesmas encontram-se em áreas utilizadas para pastagem. No âmbito dos esforços para uma contribuição nos estudos de degradação ambiental propõe-se uma pesquisa buscando demonstrar como essas áreas favorecem a ocorrência de diversos tipos de processos erosivos. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal identificar, para o distrito do Sana, os solos mais susceptíveis à erosão nas áreas desmatadas para pasto, possibilitando desta forma, apontar quais áreas devem ter seu uso alterado para garantir uma melhoria do quadro ambiental da área de estudo. Para o alcance do objetivo proposto, elaborou-se mapa de uso e cobertura da terra no software Spring 5.1.5 do ano de 2009, a partir de imagens do sensor AVNIR-2 do satélite ALOS, os quais foram relacionados com dados de granulometria, densidade aparente e carbono orgânico de solos retirados de encostas do alto, médio e baixo curso do rio Sana, através da metodologia desenvolvida pela Embrapa (1997). Os resultados mostraram que a sub-bacia do rio Sana tem significativa suscetibilidade a erosão, sendo necessário um planejamento territorial que contemple o ambiente natural.Downloads
