GEOMORFOLOGIA APLICADA AO PLANEJAMENTO AMBIENTAL: SUA IMPORTÂNCIA NA ELABORAÇÃO DOS PLANOS DIRETORES MUNICIPAIS

A Geomorfologia assume importante significado em razão de sua expressão superficial para a delimitação e representação cartográfica dos territórios. Por meio de uma análise do relevo, se obtem informações sobre o relevo, aportando dados para delimitação de geossistemas, de processos geomorgênicos e pedogênicos, indicando níveis de estabilidade/instabilidade e vulnerabilidade ambiental. Informações representadas pela cartografia oferecem dados para análise e diagnóstico da superfície. Acrescentam bases para conhecimento do espaço geográfico, possibilidades de integração de informações entre as feições geomorfológicas e geoambientais. Morfologia detém papel fundamental na compreensão da estrutura e funcionabilidade do meio. Oferecendo informações técnicas quanto à aptidão à urbanização, indicando a capacidade de uso, instalação de infraestruturas e serviços urbanos, indicando áreas favoráveis à moradia, estruturas de acessibilidade, terrenos aptos a instalação de distritos industriais, centros hospitalares e aterros sanitários. Contribuindo nos planos diretores municipais, bases essenciais para os zoneamentos ambiental e propositivo.
