CARACTERIZAÇÃO E ESPECTRO BIOLÓGICO DA VEGETAÇÃO DO LITORAL ARENOSO DO RIO GRANDE DO NORTE
Abstract
As florestas costeiras do Rio Grande do Norte ocorrem numa estreita faixa do litoral oriental, abrigando diferentes conjuntos florísticos em função das condições ecológicas diversificadas. O objetivo desse estudo foi caracterizar a vegetação de uma área do litoral arenoso e descrever a fisionomia a partir das formas de vida, contribuindo com dados sobre a vegetação costeira do Rio Grande do Norte. A área está localizada no município de Tibau do Sul, com cerca de 60 hectares e grande potencial turístico. Foram inventariadas 168 espécies distribuídas em 62 famílias. Dentre as famílias mais representativas considerando o número de espécies destacaram-se Cyperaceae (12 spp.), Myrtaceae e Poaceae (11 spp.), Asteraceae (10 spp.), Fabaceae e Rubiaceae (8 spp.), Caesalpiniaceae e Malpighiaceae (6 spp.), Boraginaceae e Euphorbiaceae (5 spp.). A partir de observações florísticas, constatou-se uma riqueza nas vegetações litorâneas do Nordeste e foi possível destacar as espécies Bowdichia virgilioides, Cordia superba, Byrsonima gardneriana, Stigmaphyllon paralias, Guettarda platypoda, Coccoloba laevis e Anacardium occidentale, de ampla distribuição nas restingas. O espectro biológico foi representado, predominantemente, pelas fanerófitas e terófitas. Foi verificado que a utilização de apenas um grupo restrito de espécies não possibilitou caracterizar a área de estudo como um tabuleiro arenoso, uma vez que existe uma mistura de espécies de floresta atlântica, restinga e cerrado neste ecossistema litorâneo.Downloads
