CANAIS FLUVIAIS URBANOS: PROPOSTA DE TIPOLOGIAS PARA A REGIÃO METROPOLITANA DO RECIFE (RMR)

Abstract

A construção deste texto tenta lançar novas bases no debate sobre a questão das águas na cidade a partir das ações de planejamento e gestão urbana. Objetiva-se então apresentar o debate construído para a proposição de uma tipologia de canais fluviais urbanos a partir da realidade encontrada nos Rios Jordão e Paratibe situados no núcleo central da Região Metropolitana do Recife (RMR). A matriz de tipologias proposta foi dividida em quatro níveis considerando: a) características morfológicas do canal fluvial; b) o uso do solo às margens do canal fluvial; c) o uso do solo nos interflúvios; e d) as unidades geomorfológicas em que os trechos dos canais analisados estão inseridos. Os resultados apontam para significativas diferenças entre os rios analisados e mesmo entre diferentes trechos de um mesmo rio. Neste sentido, ressalta-se a importância da diferenciação das características fisiográficas e nas formas de ocupação e do uso do solo dos trechos dos rios considerados para potencializar a construção de soluções específicas para cada situação
