This study aimed to evaluate the performance of 32 methods for estimating reference evapotranspiration (ETo) on daily and ten-day period in six cities in Santa Catarina. Six indicators were used (confidence and concordance indexs, correlation and determination coefficients, means quared error and mean error) with the Penman-Monteith method as standard. The radiation methods of Ritchie and Stephens-Stew are the most suitable for estimating daily and ten-day ETo. In the absence of radiation data, it is possible to estimate ETo using some temperature-based methods in Joaçaba, São Miguel do Oeste and Major Vieira.
