Abstract

This research aims to verify if students of Accountancy would be influenced by the opinion of the financial analyst in a possible Brazilian business’ share acquisition. The study is justified by the need to know whether people with financial knowledge and accountancy would be influenced or not by the annalists’ opinion when buying shares. The sample consists of 354 questionnaires applied in three different institutions of higher education located in Brazilian Capital during September 2010. The conclusion was that the analyst’s opinion did not influence the students’ way of thinking. However, strong evidence regarding the herd effect in forming options of businesses’ shares chosen by the interviewed students were found.
