This text comments on the exhibition Histórias da Terra, by Marlene Almeida, held at the Marco Zero Gallery in Recife. The show brings together more than fifty new works, developed from the artist's research into natural pigments extracted from earth and minerals. With a career spanning more than fifty years, Marlene explores the relationship between art, territory and memory, addressing issues such as sustainability and ancestry. This commentary seeks to analyze how the exhibition reflects the artist's interdisciplinary artistic practice, highlighting her aesthetic and symbolic proposals and their relevance in the contemporary context.
