Abstract

This interview was conducted between March 15 and 30, 2021, based on questions sent by e-mail to artist Denilson Baniwa. The interview discusses themes of contemporary indigenous art in Brazil, based on the works of the artist, curator, design, illustrator and activist born in the Darí village, on the banks of
the Rio Negro, in the city of Barcelos, state of Amazonas, Brazil. His artwork takes
place in different types of media: painting, illustration, performance, videos, photographs and others, without giving up the technologies of the Baniwa People.
