Resumen

El propósito de este ensayo es realizar algunas observaciones generales sobre un desarrollo reciente en el cine y el video de vanguardia, al que me referiré como la emergencia del Nuevo Cine Historicista. El objetivo es describir ciertas afinidades entre películas y videos que refractan temas comunes al cine de vanguardia a través del prisma de la narrativa histórica. En particular, este ensayo comparará y contrastará el trabajo de cuatro realizadores —David Gatten, Rebecca Meyers, Deborah Stratman y Erin Espelie—, y mi intención es esbozar algunas de sus preocupaciones temáticas, predilecciones estéticas y estrategias formales compartidas.

Lucca Nicoleli Adrião, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

É pesquisador graduado em Cinema e Audiovisual pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Atualmente, é doutorando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da mesma instituição (PPGCOM-UFPE) e atua como curador e organizador do Cinema da UFPE e do Cineclube XHY-247.
