Sobre o trágico e o enredo ficcional

Resumo: Análise do enredo trágico pela apropriação da psicologia evolutiva, dissociando-se a reflexão teórica do juízo de valor artístico. O enredo como construto narrativo; personagens, conflitos e desfechos como respostas a interesses naturais da espécie humana; suas funções hipotéticas (de “mapeamento” e “aprendizado”) dentro da nossa história evolutiva. Abordagem evolutiva das formas e funções da ficção; resgate das noções de “empatia” e “verossimilhança”. Diferenças e semelhanças entre o enredo trágico na antiguidade e na modernidade.

Abstract: Analysis of the tragic plot through the appropriation of evolutionary psychology, with the dissociation between literary theory and artistic value judgment. The plot as a narrative construction: characters, conflicts and closures as responses to natural interests of the human species; their hypothetical functions (of “mapping” and “learning”) throughout our evolutionary history. Evolutionary approach to fiction’s forms and functions; the notions of “empathy” and “verisimilitude”. Differences and similarities between the tragic in ancient Greece and in modern times.
