Abstract

The present  work  aims  to  explain  the  structures  and  cognitive operations underlying narrativity. For this, we will resort to the approach of Cognitive  Semantics,  according  to  which,  cognitive  structures  are  frames that are evoked by linguistic indexers of the text. Frames can be integrated, in the construction of new concepts, and emulated, in the modeling of more abstract  concepts.  To  analyze  such  cognitive  operations,  we  will  use  the short story “Amor”, by Clarice Lispector.
