REINOS DE NEGROS NA IDADE MÉDIA: A ÁFRICA SUBSAARIANA NO MEDIEVO

Resumo
No recorte cronológico que se convencionou chamar “Idade Média”, a maioria dos estudos históricos se concentra na Europa. Regiões periféricas, como a África Negra, salvo as exceções que confirmam a regra, geralmente são pouco estudadas durante este período. O objetivo deste artigo é justamente diminuir um pouco essa distância entre a história da África e a Idade Média.

Abstract
Chronologically speaking in what is called “Middle Ages”, the majority of historical studies focuses on Europe. Peripheral regions such as sub-Saharan Africa, unless the exceptions that prove the rule, generally are poorly studied during this period. The purpose of this article is to alleviate this gap between the history of Africa and the Middle Ages.
