Este artigo pretende desvelar alguns aspectos do processo migratório que levou milhares de trabalhadores rurais chineses às plantações cubanas de cana-de-açúcar, em meados do século XIX. Delineando tal processo desde as ações de desarticulação das estruturas socioeconômicas do Estado Chinês, empreendido pelas potências ocidentais, até o cotidiano destes trabalhadores nos complexos agroindustriais de Cuba.

Abstract
This article aims to describe the migratory process that took thousands of rural Chinese workers to Cuba’s sugarcane plantations in the mid-nineteenth century. The process is thoroughly examined, from the destructive effects that the exploitative Western powers had on the socioeconomic structures of the Chinese State to the daily lives of workers in the agroindustrial complexes of Cuba.
