Abstract

Sobre a Arte Brasileira não é mais um tratado historicista dedicado aos diferentes períodos da história da arte no Brasil. Idealizado e organizado por Fabiana Barcinski, partiu de uma visão social da arte que pretendia dar um viés diferente à percepção da estética. Desde os primórdios da região como colônia portuguesa e como Nação independente depois, sem ignorar as raízes indígenas, a obra leva desde o início a uma reflexão  sobre o que realmente seja a genuína arte brasileira. Para tanto, foram convidados escritores e pesquisadores de diversas instituições acadêmicas do Brasil. O resultado foi uma obra original, crítica e reflexiva sobre as múltiplas facetas da arte brasileira e sob os diferentes olhares de um grupo destacado de especialistas.
