Abstract

Este artigo apresenta os resultados do estudo cranioscópico e craniométrico de um crânio de criança de 9 anos de idade coletado nos anos 1990 no sítio pré-histórico Furna do Nego, Jataúba, Pernambuco, Brasil. Trata-se de um caso de craniosinostose precoce da sutura sagital, ocorrência relativamente rara em coleções arqueológicas.

 


Abstract

This article presentes the results of cranioscopic and craniometric studies of a nine years old child skull, collected in the 1990´s in Furna do Nego archaeological site, Jataúba, Pernambuco, Brasil. This is a case of premature craniosinostosis of the sagittal suture, relatively rare occurrence in archaeological collections.
