TAPHONOMIC STUDY OF A CULINARY CIT OF THE HISTORICAL ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE CHÃ PETRIBU IV, IN THE COUNTY OF PAUDALHO IN PERNAMBUCO

The article presents the qualitative and quantitative study of bone remains found in a “culinary cesspit” or a place for the disposal and burning of domestic food waste at the Chã Petribu IV site, located in the municipality of Paudalho in the state of Pernambuco. Initially, it was associated with sugarcane planting and processing workers, however, based on other information from the archaeological context of the area, it is considered as a dump for old dwellings of rural residents of sugar cane mills in the Northeast. This study made it possible to detail the types of traces, the traces of taphonomic changes associated with them and their possible use.
