Abstract

Ignacio Clemente-Conte possui licenciatura em Arqueologia pela Universidade Estatal de Leningrado, (URSS), e doutorado em História pela Universidade Autônoma de Barcelona, respectivamente concluídos em 1989 e 1995. É membro do grupo Archaeology of Social Dynamics da Instituición Milá y Fontanals de Estudios en Humanidades, (IMF), do Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, (CSIC), na Catalunha. Enquanto traceólogo, desenvolve pesquisas sobre as marcas de uso em instrumentos pré-históricos feitos em diferentes matérias primas como rochas e minerais, ossos, chifres e conchas. Já conduziu projetos de pesquisa na Nicarágua sobre a exploração de recursos marinhos na costa atlântica, e na Rússia sobre a pesca no seio das sociedades mesolíticas e neolíticas. Atualmente coordena projetos de pesquisa relacionados à ocupação humana nas áreas de altamontanha nos Pirineus e tem colaborado com pesquisas de análise funcional em sítios arqueológicos pleistocênicos na Serra da Capivara (Piauí) e na região do Estreito de Gibraltar, entre outros.
