Abstract

No município de Morro do Chapéu, na região da Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, encontrase um conjunto de sítios que pode ser filiado ao estilo Serra da Capivara da Tradição Nordeste. De fato, a temática e a tecnologia de representação enquadram-se diretamente naquele sistema gráfico, ainda que na região diamantina possam ser identificadas algumas particularidades. Os três sítios analisados no artigo constituem exemplos de referência, sobre das expressões particulares com que esse estilo se manifesta na região central baiana.

 

ABSTRACT

In the municipality of Morro do Chapeú, in the Chapada Diamantina region, state of Bahia, one finds a complex of archaeological sites that can be affiliated with the Serra da Capivara style of the Nordeste tradition. In fact, the theme and technique represented fit precisely into that graphical system, even though rock art in the Diamantina region exhibits some particularities. This paper presents three case studies that may be considered reference sites for the Nordeste tradition as expressed in the particular style of the central region of Bahia.
