Abstract

Conforme os editores, o livro está baseado na oficina Thinking through the Body, ministrada na Universidade de Wales, Lampeter, em junho de 1998. Com o mesmo nome da oficina, este volume apresenta o potencial de novas contribuições interdisciplinares para o estudo do corpo e da corporeidade, ilustradas pelos estudos teóricos e filosóficos reunidos nas “arqueologias do corpo”, similarmente ao que ocorreu com a antropologia e a história nos seus vieses de “antropologia do corpo” e “história do corpo”, que dispensam apresentações neste espaço de resenha. Pensar através do corpo pode ser similar ao pensar através dos objetos de cultura material, dentro da produção do conhecimento arqueológico.
