Abstract

Current research in technology widely documents the working techniques and tools used for the manufacture of prestigious shell goods. The talent of the artisans is expressed through the complexity of their creations and the sumptuousness of some objects. However, once the object is finished, some details of its transformation process may be lost and with it the identification of certain technical behaviors of the artisans. The technological analysis of the pieces in process of elaboration reveals some of their “tricks” to work the malacological matter and they reveal more in depth certain details of the work sequences.
