Associação dos estilos de liderança e gestão da qualidade total em hospitais privados acreditados pela ONA

Objetivo: A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar a relação entre estilos de liderança transacional, autêntico, democrático e colaborativo e prática de TQM de segurança do paciente em hospitais privados acreditados pela ONA no Brasil.
Método/abordagem: A pesquisa foi realizada em sete hospitais do Brasil acreditados pela ONA com 216 gestores. A análise da relação entre estilos de liderança e prática de TQM segurança do paciente da ONA foi realizada por meio de regressão logística. Contribuições teóricas/práticas/sociais: Foram observados que os estilos de liderança autêntico e colaborativo são os mais propícios para se atuar em hospitais privados que adotam a TQM como estratégia pela ótica da acreditação hospitalar com foco na segurança do paciente.
Originalidade/relevância: A gestão da qualidade total (TQM) tem uma maior atenção por parte dos hospitais privados do Brasil uma vez que o cliente dessas organizações apresentam grau de expectativa e exigência mais elevados em relação aos serviços prestados. Nesse contexto, este artigo auxilia a gestão hospitalar através do entendimento dos estilos de liderança para promover a melhoria contínua dos serviços hospitalares através de prática de acreditação hospitalar.
