Call for dossier: Sociologías en la Argentina: Poscoloniales, Decoloniales, Dependentistas
We have the honor to invite you to submit an article for publication in our journal on Anti-Utilitarian and Postcolonial Studies (REALIS), founded in 2011, which engages closely with the global anti-utilitarian critique. REALIS is a Brazilian scientific journal associated with the Graduate Program in Sociology at the Federal University of Pernambuco (https://periodicos.ufpe.br/revistas/realis/about) and aims to promote an anti-utilitarian critique on the frontiers of coloniality.
We invite researchers to submit original articles addressing how different theoretical perspectives (whether postcolonial, decolonial, or dependentista) contribute to understanding current social issues in Argentina. We expect articles that respond to this question, delving into one or more postcolonial, decolonial, and/or dependentista theories, and demonstrating how their conceptual tools and social critiques can shed light on contemporary social pathologies in the country, problematizing themes such as structural heterogeneity and informal labor, gender violence and feminism, racial issues and indigenism, debates on developmentalism and monoculture, or discussions on inclusive language and hate speech, among others. Contributions from various disciplines are welcome.
Organizer: Eugenia Fraga (CONICET and UBA)
Submission deadline: November 30, 2024
Submissions must adhere to all journal guidelines (see template: //periodicos.ufpe.br/revistas/index.php/realis/about/submissions).
