Focus and Scope
Published regularly since 1992, the journal Perspectiva Filosófica aims to disseminate unpublished bibliographic material (articles, reviews, translations etc.) of relevance to research in Philosophy, promoting dialogue and debate among professors, researchers, and students from Brazil and abroad. The published texts are authored by researchers in Philosophy (doctors or doctoral students). At the discretion of the Editorial Committee, works by researchers in related areas may be published as long as they are of philosophical relevance.
PERSPECTIVA FILOSÓFICA is a journal associated with the Graduate Program of the Federal University of Pernambuco (Recife, Brazil). It publishes original articles on Philosophy and related areas in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French, as well as reviews and translations that are appropriate to our field of publication.
The target audience is mainly undergraduate, graduate students, professors and researchers in the field of Philosophy.
PERSPECTIVA FILOSÓFICA uses a policy to detect plagiarism.
PERSPECTIVA FILOSÓFICA allows its authors to maintain their publication rights without restrictions.
This journal is open access and distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Atribuição 4.0 Internacional.
Peer Review Process
Each submitted paper will be evaluated by at least one external reviewer and, in the event of an inconclusive opinion, it will be evaluated by a second external reviewer. In the event of disagreement between both opinions, a third opinion will be sought.
Articles will be evaluated without identifying the author, using a blind-review system.
The author must have a doctorate degree or be a doctoral student, preferably in the area of Philosophy, but not exclusively.
The standard time for evaluation by reviewers is at least 120 days and is directly related to the availability of reviewers. However, this period might be extended due to the circumstances of each submitted paper and the topic addressed.
The publication of work by researchers from UFPE will be restricted to a maximum of 20% of the articles in an issue of the journal; and these same researchers may only publish a new article in the journal 24 months after their last published work.
This restriction does not apply to reviews and translations.
In the case of the publication of works by researchers from outside UFPE, the same author may only have a new work published in the journal after 12 months have passed since the issue of their last publication.
This restriction does not apply to reviews and translations.
Periodicity
The publication is biannual, primarily electronic, but with printed issues for libraries and for Exchange journals.
Fees
The Journal Perspectiva Filosófica Journal does not charge any fees for the submission, peer review, publication, or article processing (APCs). No fees are charged to either the authors for publishing or the readers for reading.

Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers
Editors and reviewers commit to conducting the editorial process with fairness, impartiality, and academic rigor, making evaluation and publication decisions independently of the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, institutional affiliation, or academic position.
They further commit to preserving the confidentiality of manuscripts, ensuring the independence and integrity of editorial decisions in the face of political, institutional, or commercial pressures, guaranteeing ethical, transparent, and impartial peer review, and declaring conflicts of interest, refraining from participating in decisions when such conflicts are identified.

Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence
The Revista Perspectiva Filosófica reaffirms its commitment to academic integrity and transparency in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools throughout all stages of the editorial process.
The use of Large Language Models (LLMs) — such as those provided by OpenAI, Alphabet (Google), or other institutions — must be clearly declared and documented in a specific section of the manuscript when its use goes beyond the mere revision of writing, grammar, and spelling.
For the purposes of this policy, AI-assisted text revision is understood as the use of AI tools to improve texts produced entirely by humans, with the aim of improving readability, clarity, linguistic accuracy, style, punctuation, spelling, and minor aspects of rewriting or formatting. Thus, this type of use does not require a declaration, provided that it does not result in the generation of new substantive content, arguments, data, analyses, or conceptual elements that constitute an original intellectual contribution.
It is expressly forbidden to list any AI tool, LLM, or automated system as an author or co-author of manuscripts submitted to the journal, as such tools do not meet the criteria for scientific authorship.
