Abstract

In this work we study Vaihinger´s interpretation of the affecting thing in itself as a fiction. According to Vaihinger, such interpretation enables us to overcome the shortcomings of the notion of transcendental affection. We claim that Vaihinger´s position is compatible with the principles of transcendental idealism.
