Fanon and a Black body Phenomenology

Abstract

The history of European/Western philosophy is marked by the inconceivable defense of its canon and its respective authors, marking the valorization of an identification of themes and objects to be received as acceptable to it, considering that it plays a role in validating rationality and everything that is considered philosophy. Based on this, the analysis of contemporary philosophy is seen as essential as it enables a profound critique of the philosophical canon and its most traditional authors. One of the most popular lines in this conception is identified in the phenomenological aspect, especially in the critical approach that Merleau-Ponty gives to the Cartesian perspective in his approach to the body, mainly because it allows a more comprehensive view of corporeality and, consequently, a deeper acceptance of the body. as an object of consciousness. However, it can be seen that despite the criticism, the author of the Phenomenology of Perception does not seem to have an interest in distancing himself so much from the canon, so that his Phenomenology seems limited to the same axes and objects already discussed, which demonstrates the need for a double criticism, in response to the first, which starts from raciality as a proposition of a new object. That said, we take as objective of this work the formulation of a black body phenomenology as a critical proposition to the canon, starting from the structuring of Frantz Fanon's thought to construct an overthrow of the precepts of white/European/colonial perception by unraveling the meanings of the black body.
