Butler diante da noção de identidade e da metafísica da substância

To examine the escencialist and/or substantivist bias of the “identity”, we want to review in detail Judith Butler´s analyses of the notion, as she points at the remains of metaphysics of substance in one of the most philosophical and fruitful current deconstructions. Butler installs her analysis in the very roots of the Lacanian interpretation of the notion of identity to denounce its substantive and biologist character. Following that thread, we propose «plural and mobile» identities. We consider that a notion like this would favor social transformations towards “a more livable life” for the excluded. We do not ignore the problems this dictum entails, but we consider it is worth to deepen and explore its philosophical contributions.
