Sustainable development in public administrationan analysis of the new bidding law

By understanding that nature is not an inexhaustible source of resources, humanity, within a global context, began to focus on environmental issues with the aim of containing the damage already caused and implementing new policies aimed at environmental protection. For this reason, several sectors of society began to apply environmental issues with the aim of containing environmental damage, with the Public Administration even adopting such conduct. Thus, by promoting the protection afforded by the 1988 Federal Constitution regarding environmental issues, the administration implemented new environmental guidelines to be applied in the bidding process, such as Federal Law No. 14,133/2021, known as the New Bidding Law, which despite not being the initial milestone for implementing the theme, it brought significant changes regarding sustainability in public procurement, and regarding the concept of sustainable public purchasing, therefore, the new legislation aims to minimize environmental damage caused by the state machinery, in order to induce certain market behaviours, as well as encourage the practice of sustainable acts and routines by individuals
