Abstract

The study analyses campaign strategies and political challenges in Mozambique, focusing on the October 2024 presidential elections and the candidacy of Venâncio Mondlane, from PODEMOS. Based on a historical and political analysis of campaigns since the 1990 Constitution, the research uses the Theory of Political Communication, the Rational Theory of Voting and the Theory of Social Identity. The methodology includes a bibliographic and comparative review. The results show that Mondlane mobilized young people and rural communities, reflecting a desire for political renewal, even though FRELIMO won the elections. PODEMOS’s representation in parliament suggests a demand for new approaches. Popular dissatisfaction with corruption and the search for reforms continue, revealing the importance of campaign strategies for social change in Mozambique.
