A maior parte da água precipitada sobre a superfície terrestre acaba retornando para a atmosfera por meio da evapotranspiração. A componente da transpiração vegetal representa a parte produtiva desse montante, estando relacionada com a produtividade primária e a incorporação de biomassa pela vegetação. A evaporação da água no solo, por sua vez, representa a parte não produtiva da evapotranspiração. O conhecimento dessas componentes, associadas à classes específicas de uso da terra, é de fundamental importância para o adequado planejamento de recursos hídricos. O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar procedimento metodológico que permita obter estimativas remotas de evapotranspiração e seu desmembramento nas componentes de evaporação da água no solo e transpiração vegetal. Isto será realizado por meio do acoplamento de dois modelos de balanço de energia, respectivamente o modelo Mapping EvapoTranspiration at high Resolution with Internalized Calibration - METRIC e o modelo Two-Source Energy Balance – TSEB.
