A Serra do Lajeado, onde se observa, claramente, a presença do domínio morfoclimático do cerrado, vem desde os primórdios da criação da cidade de Palmas, capital do estado do Tocantins, sofrendo com as expansões, urbana e atividades agropecuárias, fato este que culminou na criação da Área de Representação Ecológica da Serra do Lajeado, em 1989. Ressalta-se que a partir da década de 1990 essa área passou a denominar-se Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) - Serra do Lajeado. Ainda com intuito resguardar o a biodiversidade presente na APA Serra do Lajeado, em 2001 ocorreu à criação do Parque Estadual do Lajeado (PEL), (SEPLAN, 2003, p. 25). Neste sentido a presente pesquisa busca analisar a perspectiva e capacidade de regeneração do cerrado no entorno do PEL a luz do uso múltiplo do solo. Para tanto, baseou-se metodologicamente no uso de técnicas relacionadas ao Sistema de Informações Geográficas - SIG, visando à espacialização dos dados, bem como, utilizou-se de modelos matemáticos com base na regressão linear, objetivando o estabelecimento de projeções de uso do solo agropecuário, com vegetação de cerrado e urbanização. Isto possibilitou, também, traçar as perspectivas de regeneração do cerrado a curto, médio e longo prazo. The Serra do Lajeado, where the presence of the morphoclimatic domain of the cerrado is clearly observed, dates from the beginnings of the city of Palmas, the capital of the state of Tocantins, suffering from urban sprawl and agricultural activities. in the creation of the Ecological Representation Area of Serra do Lajeado, in 1989. It is emphasized that from the 1990s this area was renamed the Environmental Protection Area (APA) - Serra do Lajeado. Still in order to safeguard the biodiversity present in the APA Serra do Lajeado, in 2001 the creation of the State Park of Lajeado (PEL), (Seplan, 2003, p.25). In this sense, the present research seeks to analyze the perspective and regeneration capacity of the cerrado in the surroundings of the PEL in light of the multiple use of the soil. In order to do so, it was methodologically based on the use of techniques related to the Geographic Information System (GIS), aiming at the spatialization of data, as well as using mathematical models based on linear regression, aiming at the establishment of land use projections agriculture, with cerrado vegetation and urbanization. This has also made it possible to outline the prospects for cerrado regeneration in the short, medium and long term.
