Precipitación Estimada por Productos de Teledetección en la Región Fisiográfica del Bajo San Francisco: Un Análisis del Rendimiento del TRMM (3B42) y del CHIRPS.

La utilización de datos estimados mediante Teledetección se ha convertido en una alternativa para suplir el déficit de estaciones meteorológicas/pluviométricas en Brasil. Así, esta investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar el rendimiento de la precipitación estimada por los productos TRMM y CHIRPS en la región fisiográfica del Baixo São Francisco (Baixo SF). Para ello, utilizando los siguientes parámetros estadísticos: coeficiente de correlación lineal (r), raíz cuadrada del error medio (RMSE), porcentaje del sesgo relativo (PBIAS) y eficiencia de Nash-Sutcliffe (NSE), se compararon los datos de precipitación de 67 estaciones pluviométricas con los respectivos valores estimados por TRMM y CHIRPS, en el período de 2000 a 2015. Con valores de r = 0,88 y 0,87; RMSE = 31,01 y 144,98; y NSE = 0,76 y 0,71, el CHIRPS presentó un mejor rendimiento que el TRMM en las escalas mensual y anual. En las escalas diaria y decenal, ninguno de los dos productos obtuvo resultados significativos. En las regiones más alejadas de la zona costera, cuya altimetría oscila entre 400 y 700 metros, los datos de CHIRPS y TRMM mostraron una mejor precisión. Se concluye que solo las estimaciones de CHIRPS, en el período mensual y anual, poseen una buena precisión para representar la pluviometría del Baixo SF en el período estudiado.
