A Formação de um Lago Artificial: Impactos Ambientais e Perspectivas de Mitigação

A construção duma usina hidrelétrica e a conseqüente criação dum lago artificial no município de Indianópolis MG trouxeram modificações ambientais substanciais na região. O fato histórico exigiu da população indianopolense a aprender a conviver com um ambiente físico que hoje é visto como área de lazer, mas cuja existência é recente. A aprendizagem é difícil e provoca impactos negativos nos recursos naturais e no ecossistema, tais como a ocupação predatória das margens do lago, a degradação da área por desmatamento, por disposição inadequada de lixo e esgoto, de fossas sépticas e de poços artesianos assim como por métodos inadequados de consumo da água do lago. Este estudo identifica e quantifica os impactos visíveis e elabora uma proposta de monitoramento da área com vistas a uma convivência futura harmoniosa e sustentável da população com o novo lago.Downloads
