O que o corpo tem a dizer para a teoria social?

Argumentos em defesa do corpo como “ponto de vista”, “objeto importante” ou “perspectiva” nas Ciências Sociais vêm crescendo desde a década de 1990. Nesse artigo, discorro sobre o que precisamente o estudo do corpo diz para a teoria social, ou em outras palavras, qual é o potencial desse tópico no âmbito teórico das Ciências Sociais. Procuro explicar a emergência do corpo enquanto “objeto” e “perspectiva” analítica a partir de sua ambiguidade intrínseca, bem como da ambiguidade dos arranjos institucionais da modernidade ocidental. Então, discorro sobre as possíveis contribuições do corpo para temas como a relação entre ação e estrutura, e a construção da subjetividade.
