The Chanting of Hare Krishna

Abstract

Trying to portray a ceremony of the devotees of Krishna (God), this video especially presents the central point of the systems of relationships among the participants that it is the mantras song, the maha mantra, that are the names of the supreme divinity. The movement Hare Krishna was begun in the occident by Srila Prabhupada, a coming spiritual master of India, that in the years of 1965, to the 69 years it begins to publish at several countries the beginnings of a line of Vaishnavismo, a branch monoteísta of the Hinduism, that raises her/it a culture of more than 5 thousand years. That describes through a vast sacred literature a yoga, or connection with God, that seeks to develop the pure love in this relationship. The beginnings are basically expressed in; compassion, austerity, truthfulness and purity. The exercise of the compassion, or no violence, for the ingestion of vegetarian foods, the austerity, that is the not ingestion of alcohol or drugs, the truthfulness is the non involvement in bad luck games, for not stimulating the greed, and the purity is developed in the measure in that he/she closes up the illicit sex, so that it can, like this, to subsidize a purer way to sing the names of God. Now there are hundreds of temples Hare Krishna for the world, rural communities, schools and cultural centers.

He/she understands each other that all of the names of Krishna, such as Foliage, Hari, Govinda, among many other, they possess the substance of own God, that is, the name is not different from own God. For that reason there is the repetition of the names with the intention of purifying the thoughts and the apprentice's activities. In that way, all of the processes accomplished in the movement Hare Krishna, be also the preparation of a ceremony, accomplishment of the procedures ritualísticos, offer of free vegetarian foods for visitors (Prasada), the study of the Vedic deeds, or even the garments used on those occasions, they look for to offer support for the song in community. In a way that everything can remind God and his/her relationship with Him.

In this video they are related two days of ceremony, where in the first scenes one moment is exhibited in that all are seating, the kirtana, is the song congregacional through instruments as the harmonium, instrument of keys with bellows similar to the operation of an accordion, the karatalas are small bronze plates or brass that accompany the different rhythms, and also the mrdanga is had, percussion instrument done of mud that emits serious and sharp sounds.
