Development of a hypermedia for interactive teaching of sexual transmitted diseases

Objective: describing the process of developing an educational hypermedia, focusing on the syndromic approach to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) for training nurses. Method: development study, conducted from October 2012 to April 2013, following the steps: content production, selection of media, organization of student-tutor space and didactic transition. Results: hypermedia was hosted in the SOLAR virtual environment of Federal University of Ceará. The final product consists of nine modules that presented videos, pictures, podcast, hypertext, hyperlinks, communication spaces, assessments and supporting materials related to various aspects of STDs and the practice nurse. Conclusion: it is a constructivist approach that aims at providing the main references on the topic as well as using interactive teaching resources to support learning. However, to verify the effectiveness in learning it is necessary to practical application with nursing students.
