Objective: Analyze the influences of HPV infection as a factor for the development of cancer of the cervix and describe the role of a nurse in the prevention of HPV infection as a predictor of cancer of the cervix. Methods: Descriptive and exploratory study, of qualitative approach, based on the data BDENF the LILACS and SciELO in the last 10 years. We performed a content analysis based on 16 items considered to potential literature. Results: Showed that there is greater concern for the authors to prevent cancer of the cervix instead of the primary infection by HPV. It was also observed that there is little research on HPV associated with cancer of the cervix and the role of nurses in the prevention of these diseases. Conclusion: The repetitive actions of nursing are among the authors, no innovative actions to reduce the high rates of HPV infection and cancer of the cervix.Downloads
