The CBERS Project derives from a technical and scientific agreement on space signed between Brazil and China to produce remote-sensing data. Today, with edition sixth of the satellites, the project is widely applicable to Brazilian and Chinese studies on the environment and terrestrial resources. Seeking to evaluate data that would encourage evolution of the project and the applicability of satellite images, the aim of this study was to analyze scientific production related to CBERS, using bibliometric techniques. The scientific texts were extracted from such documents as journals, chapters from books, and conferences, all intrinsic to the Scopus database, itself important on the international scene. We found a predominance of Chinese and Brazilian texts and institutions, which shows that the publications are linked, above all, to the satellite-producing countries. The pioneering texts deal with the quality of the derived products, as well as the characteristics of the satellites. However, most are associated with the applicability of the images, which are important in aiding territorial management and producing data that result in sustainability.
