RESPOSTA GERMINATIVA DE PLANTAS LEGUMINOSAS DA CAATINGA
Abstract
Objetivou-se descrever o processo de germinação de espécies de leguminosa da caatinga e formas de superação de mecanismo de dormência nas sementes, quando presente. As espécies selecionadas foram Acacia paniculata Willd., Pithecellobium diversifolium Benth. e Bauhinia cheilantha (Bong.) Steud. As sementes foram coletadas das plantas-mãe, beneficiadas e guardadas até o momento dos testes de germinação. Os tratamentos adotados foram: controle, escarificação mecânica, fotoperíodo de 12 horas luz por 12 horas de escuro a temperatura constante de 30oC e escuro contínuo. As sementes de P. diversifolium são quiescentes e as demais exibiram mecanismo de dormência que foi superado com o tratamento de escarificação mecânica. O estudo mostra que mesmo em espécies simpátricas o percentual de germinação das sementes depende das características biológicas intrínseca da espécie considerada e indica a necessidade de estudos de germinação de longas séries temporais para melhor compreensão do processo de regeneração e distribuição das espécies em ambientes de caatinga. Adicionalmente, fornecem informações biológicas para conservação do germoplasma ex situ e escolha do protocolo apropriado para germinação das espécies estudadas.Downloads
