Diagnóstico Físico Conservacionista aplicado ao estudo da desertificação nos municípios de Castelo do Piauí e Juazeiro do Piauí, Nordeste, Brasil

O presente estudo buscou avaliar o risco de desertificação nos municípios de Castelo do Piauí e Juazeiro do Piauí, a partir dos parâmetros elencados pelo Diagnóstico Físico Conservacionista (DFC). Os parâmetros do DFC apontaram que a área em estudo possui: 82,6% de seu relevo variando de plano a suave ondulado, 74,7% da área possui alta a muito alta erosividade, 46,2% dos solos apresentam alta erodibilidade, ou seja, alta vulnerabilidade a erosão, 33,1% da área apresenta severidade climática variando de alta a muito alta. Quanto ao NDVI, constatou-se aumento das classes moderadamente alta e moderada de 0,1% e 1,7%entre os anos analisados (1985 e 2009). Os resultados do NDVI sugerem melhorias no ambiente e estágios de sucessão ecológica. O DFC indicou pequeno aumento no risco de desertificação na área que passou de 46.78 em 1985 para 46.86 unidades em 2009, devido aos solos expostos, ao aumento das áreas destinadas aos cultivos temporários e à redução daquelas destinadas aos cultivos permanentes, ao aumento do extrativismo vegetal para produzir carvão vegetal e lenha, ao aumento dos efetivos bovino e ovino. O DFC constituiu uma importante metodologia que permitiu conhecer de forma integrada os elementos da dinâmica da paisagem para fins de planejamento territorial.Downloads
