This article aims to present a research on gender relations developes with women born in the early twentieth century in Recife – Brazil. In order to show the relations of power and autonomy experienced by women of middle class of a patriarchal society, an hermeneutic interpretation of the data was done. Thus concepts like fusion of horizons and prejudice developed by Gadamer , served as a driver for the analysis.References
