Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the quality of a set of parameters and basic functionality of the websites post-graduate stricto sensu programs in Accounting in Brazil. For this, a new assessment model was prepared, based on Carvalho Neto and Takaoka´s work (Estudo exploratório sobre características de qualidade em websites acadêmicos, apresentado no IX Encontro de Pesquisadores do Centro Universitário de Franca, em 2008) that divided the selected variables into two groups: one composed of the website design features and the other by characteristics related to information quality. Sites of 17 post-graduate stricto sensu programs in Accounting were evaluated. The websites investigated have, in general, a reasonable quality, both with regard to the aspect of page design and content of the information. It is noteworthy that certain features, especially those related to security, accuracy and updatedness have room for improvement.
