Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article is original and unpublished, not being evaluated for publication by anohter journal;
  • The file is in MS-Word (*.doc) format and doesn't exceed 2Mb in size;
  • The text follows the Guidelines for authors;
  • Author identification has been removed from the file and its Properties in Word, ensuring the RAFDR's confidentiality criteria, if submitted for peer review (eg, articles), as instructed in Ensuring blind peer review 
  • No plagiarism.
  • All URL are active;
  • all authors' metadata are filled out

Author Guidelines

The RAFDR  accepts submission in portuguese, english, spain and french.

The present guidelines are for ENGLISH written submissions:

(1) The submission must have the following structure:

  • (a) Title in english (if possible, in Portuguese too);
  • (b) Abstract in English (if possible, Portuguese too);
  • (c) Kewords in english (if possible, in Portuguese too);
  • (d) References (Bibliographie used in the text).

 

(2)  Text format:

  • (a) Font: NEW TIMES ROMAN 12 points;
  • (b) Between lines: 1.5;
  • (c) Paragraphs (first line): 1,25 cm (using Ruler, not the TAB key);
  • (d) The ilustrations and charts/tables are inserted in the text.

 

(3) The abstract should have between 100 to 200 words, with highlight of objective, research method and main conclusions.

 

(4) The keywords must indicate the content of the work and have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5.

 

(5) Submission that contain photos, personal documments and/or involve research with living people must annex as supplment document the autorization issued by the Ethic Comitte of the Institution which the author belongs;

 

(6) The submission should have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25 pages (including bibliography) in A4 format, with top margin: 3 cm; left margin: 3 cm; lower margin: 2 cm and right margin: 2 cm;

 

(7) Citations should be made in the author-date system according to NBR 10520, summarized as follows. We urge authors to avoid using direct citations, preferring the modality of indirect citations.

(7.1) Direct quotation with less than 03 (three) lines (literal transcription, ipsis litteris) must be double quoted according to the examples:

 Example 1: According to Saldanha (2008, p.9) "the growth of any science can be accompanied by the growth of its bibliography."
 
Example 2: According to Bernardes and Pereira (2011, p.18), "great urban transformations marked the beginning of the twentieth century in the city of Recife, reform plans were succeeded in order to meet the demand for modernization."

(7.2)  Direct quotation with more than 03 (three) lines, must be highlighted and formatted:

  • 4 cm left indentation,
  • Times New Roman font size 11space between single lines
  • Alignment Justified

 

(8) References should obey the ABNT 6022 rules, which are exemplified below:

Example 1 - single authored Book:

SALDANHA, Nélson. Humanismo e história. Recife: Bagaço, 2008. 121 p.

Example 2 - Books or compendiums with three or more authors:

VILELA, Karine Gomes Falcão et al. (Org.). Obras raras e valiosas: critérios adotados pela Biblioteca da Faculdade de Direito do Recife. Recife: Ed. Universitária da UFPE, 2012. 90 p

Example 3 - Articles or papers (printed):

(8) Notes and commentaries should be made with footnotes, using TIMES NEW ROMANS, 10 points, between lines set to simple.

 

(9) We don´t accept submissions with more than 03 (three) authors.

National Doctrine

Articles writted in portuguese. This section inclues not only brazilian submissions, but also all submission from countries whose first language is portuguese.

Foreign articles

Submissions in spanish, english, french or german. The use of peer review is subject of the Editors board decision.

Translations

Translations of foreign papers into portuguese (Brasil). This translations must have authorisations from the Copywrite owners (if applicable).

Review

Book/work Reviews are only accepted if approved by the Editorial Board and selected by double peer review process. This ensures that only quality reviews are approved.

Privacy Statement

The names and addresses informed for registration in this journal shall be used solely for the services rendered by this publication, not being made available to other purposes or to third parties.
