SUCCESSION OF ASSETS AND RIGHTS IN A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

The widespread access to the Internet started a profound revolution in the way we see the world, ourselves and others. However, and mainly due to the high speed of information traffic, more legally relevant conflicts may occur, thus, the virtual environment could not be ignored by the legal system. Due to its strong presence in everyone's life, it is legally relevant that the state defends those legal relationships born within the World Wide Web, which as a relatively new instrument, is still subject to many uncertainties. The field of inheritance law, specifically faces problems related to assets and rights existing only in the virtual environment; It is intended here to assert which legal framework should be applied in cases of death of a digital service holder, so it can determined what possible effects may occur in the law of succession field.
