Sensitive serido: women artists and the teaching of art in contemporary

Abstract

This article investigates Seridó potiguar artists, showing the poetic production of these women and their possible contributions to Art Education in the region. The notion of memory and forgetfulness is discussed in order to reflect on the history (or its erasure) of artistic culture and the values of local traditions in that specific context. It uses dialogue between authors, bibliographic review and empirical experiences to bring the production of these women closer to the pedagogical practices proposed in the school context. The research, still ongoing, has shown that the visibility of Seridó artists in schools in the region is very low. However, the approaches taken by us in the classroom on the poetic production of these women allowed the students to have a broad understanding of the expression plans, a better sociocultural understanding, the expansion of the perceptive
capacity and the sharpening of the critical sense.
