Copyright Statement

As from 2025, Cartema Journal will adopt a new copyright policy whereby authors retain the copyright of their published texts. For publication, authors must grant the journal the right to publish the material for the first time.

Until 2024, the copyrights of works published in Revista Cartema belonged to the journal itself, according to the information available on the pages of articles published during that period. Therefore, all articles published until 2024 follow the original conditions described in the respective editions.

In cases of subsequent dissemination in institutional repositories, book chapters, or any other derivative works of those published in Cartema, it is requested that the original publication in the journal be duly referenced.

Cartema encourages authors to make their work available and share it on digital platforms (such as institutional repositories or personal pages) before or during the editorial process, recognizing that this contributes to a broader academic debate and can increase the impact of the published work.

The journal uses the Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 license, which authorizes:

  • Sharing: copying and redistributing content in any medium or format.
  • Adaptation: remixing, adapting, transforming, and creating from the material, including for purposes.
