Identidade feminina no 'Relato de um certo Oriente'

Abstract

O macrocosmos do Romance Relato de um certo Oriente, do escritor manauara Milton Hatoum, é a história de famílias de imigrantes libaneses  que vieram para o Brasil no final do século XIX, início do XX, algumas para regiões de cultivo de café, outras para recônditos lugares da Amazônia. Este trabalho busca mostrar como as categorias de identidade e cultura na perspectiva de Stuart Hall constituem um instrumento teórico importante na análise de uma obra que atravessa oceanos e deságua em um rio incrustado em uma floresta densa, repleta de mistérios e mitos.
