Alfabetização Cartográfica no Ensino de Geografia

O processo de ensino-aprendizagem da geografia necessita, com urgência, de melhorias de caráter prático, sobretudo, no que diz respeito a noções básicas de cartografia. O presente estudo tem como objetivo valorizar a relação entre alguns conceitos fundamentais da alfabetização cartográfica e o ensino de geografia, dentre os quais se destacam o de lateralidade e orientação espacial. Em seguida, fizemos uma abordagem de como os referidos assuntos são aplicados na realidade escolar, assim como, uma análise da garantia dos mesmos nos documentos oficiais que estrutura o ensino escolar. Tais saberes absorvidos pelos estudantes ajuda-os na interpretação de mapas enquanto linguagem específica de suma importância na leitura do espaço geográfico. Porém, antes disso, outras habilidades são necessárias, sendo a utilização do corpo uma ferramenta didática indispensável no desenvolvimento amplo do sujeito. Por fim, sugerimos uma proposta prática de atividade onde se utiliza a lateralidade e orientação espacial na relação corporal com o lugar, a paisagem e seus objetos. Portanto, apesar das inúmeras questões que prejudicam o processo de alfabetização cartográfica, outras diretrizes são postas em prática com grande sucesso por parte dos professores e estudantes.
