Analysing Works of the artist Paul Cézanne With a homological look

Abstract

There is an important relationship between the world of Fine Arts and studies related to Projective Geometry. This work aims to demonstrate this relationship, based on the aspects on which these areas are based. For this, the French artist Paul Cézanne, considered the father of Modern Art, was chosen to be studied, being specifically restricted to two of his important works: “The Large Bathers” and “Still Life with Watermelon and Pomegranates” that will be analyzed starting from an aesthetichistorical view, as well as an analysis starting from a homological look. In this way, seeking to broaden the readers' view to understand this relationship, where the important aesthetic characteristics of works can be based on concepts of projective transformations. And to give reliability to what will be exposed, this work is constituted through theoretical foundations of several writers who dedicated themselves to study and explain these themes presented here. From elements of the elaborated relationships, we can observe that homologies are identified in those that can be identified as examined works.
