Geraldo de Barros: Art and projective Geometry

Abstract

The present work brings a discussion about the trajectory of the Brazilian artist Geraldo de Barros, presenting a little of his life, history, as well as his contributions in different areas related to the arts. Then we will make a critical and factual reading of two of hisworks of art, entitled: “Movimento Contra Movimento” and “Fotoforma”. In this analysis some artistic and technical characteristics identified in the works were highlighted. Finally, we will make a second reading of the works, this time from the perspective of Projective Geometry with emphasis on homological transformations, seeking to identify possible relationships between the determining elements in the creation of the works.
